"'Tis So Sweet": Taraji P. Henson Leads Emotional True Story of Miracles and Reunion on Netflix
A powerful story of faith, family, and unexpected miracles is coming to Netflix! The streaming service has announced its new feature film 'Tis So Sweet, produced by Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin and starring Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson.
Inspired by the incredible, real-life story of Chicago bakery owner Lenore Lindsey that went viral in November 2024, the film promises to be a moving drama about healing old wounds and finding purpose in life's most surprising moments.
About the Film: Plot and True Story
'Tis So Sweet centers on Lenore Lindsey (played by Taraji P. Henson), a dedicated Chicago bakery owner whose world is turned upside down by a stunning discovery. Decades earlier, as a teenager, Lenore made the difficult decision to place her newborn son for adoption. Unbeknownst to her, her biological son, Vamarr Hunter (played by Joey Bada$$), grew up and became a regular customer at her South Shore bakery. A genetic testing service brought mother and son back together in a reunion that captured national attention.
The film explores this miraculous coincidence, following Lenore's journey to reclaim lost time, heal old wounds, and embrace new possibilities.
Star-Studded Cast & Crew
'Tis So Sweet features an incredible ensemble cast directed by Tasha Smith (Mayor of Kingstown), in her feature film directorial debut. The screenplay was written by Randy Brown (Miracles From Heaven).
The main cast includes:
Taraji P. Henson (Empire, The Color Purple) as Lenore Lindsey.
Joey Bada$$ (aka Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, Two Distant Strangers, Creed) as Vamarr Hunter.
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (King Richard, Ray) as Angie.
Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give, BMF) as Robert.
