The urban dictionary definition of the word Hustle is " Anything you need to do to make money." Hustlers is the tale of exotic dancers overcoming the woes of the recession. The ladies of Hustlers are all about getting paid. The story centers around the main two characters of Destiny and Ramona. Destiny portrayed by Constance Wu is struggling to support her grandmother while working as an exotic dancer. She shows up every night ready to get her money however hasn't managed to find her niche in the underbelly of strip club culture. Ramona played by Jennifer Lopez is the belle of the ball. The veteran, she knows who to target, how to make an entrance and who's hand to grease. Destiny sees Ramona and knows that's her key to the top.

Hustlers works because of the versatility of the women on screen to how the sex appeal is conveyed. Make no mistake; this is a movie about women and for women. Everything serves a purpose. The wardrobe is sexy but not vulgar. The music helps set the stage from the opening credit with Control by the iconic Janet Jackson. Lorene Scararia created a vibe with this tale that not only had you rooting for these women but wanting to become a member of their crew.

Constance Wu may have been the lead in Hustlers, but Jennifer Lopez stole the show. This is Jennifer's best performance since Selena. J. Lo at 50 is showing these young girls how to stunt. Her entrance on screen is so iconic that I must think back to Flashdance when a split had such a powerful effect.

Not only is she mesmerizing but also vulnerable. Finally, she was blessed with a script that didn't ask her to be safe. We know that she could dance, but Jennifer sizzled on screen. One of my favorite moments in the film is when Destiny and Ramona meet on the rooftop. The intimacy conveyed between the two women was precious. Cardi B and Lizzo's appearance in Hustlers was way too short for my liking. Cardi who is the only one in Hustlers who was a stripper deserved more than a pop-up. Keke Palmer was also grossly underused.

This movie also demonstrated that its black culture that made strip clubs cool. Mainstream strip clubs don't allow rap music, twerking, and they definitely don't make it rain. Hustlers may have been based on a news article, but this movie is sheer entertainment, so what if a couple of Wall Street Guys lost a bag. Grab your girlfriends and go see Hustlers. I guarantee you will walk away Feeling So Good.

Diversity- this movie receives an 8 for having women of color in the lead however I would have liked to have seen more women of color behind the scenes.

Scale: This movie gets an 8.5 because of La Reina Jennifer Lopez.
