AAFCA Roundtable with the cast of Black-ish

After eight seasons, the series finale of Black-ish will aired on Tuesday night, and it was an emotional time for fans. As the major character, Andre Johnson (Anthony Anderson), quit his job and the family relocated to a Black neighborhood, the plot was a frenzy of closures and new beginnings.

While the series finale adhered to a few TV tropes, such as characters remembering in an empty place, it continued to promote and present Black culture. The episode, for example, closed with the Johnsons and their entire neighborhood mourning their old house in a New Orleans jazz funeral.

In a celebration of life, everyone danced and paraded along the street.

It seemed a fitting end for a show that that came into our hearts every week filled with love.

If you missed any episodes or feel like reminiscing, there’s always Hulu for a look back.
