2027 Golden Globes: Submission Deadline Arrives October 30

The road to the 84th Golden Globes reaches an important milestone Friday, Oct. 30, when submissions close for motion pictures, television programs and podcasts. The deadline begins the next phase of the awards process ahead of nominations on Dec. 7 and the ceremony on Jan. 10, 2027.

For audiences, awards season often begins with nominations and red-carpet appearances. Behind the scenes, however, submission deadlines, screening access and voting schedules determine which eligible projects can be considered and when voters make their selections.

According to the Golden Globes' official timetable, television and podcast nomination ballots will be distributed Nov. 16, with voting closing Nov. 23. Motion picture nomination ballots will follow Nov. 24, with voting closing Dec. 4.

The organization has also established deadlines for press conferences and viewing-platform access, giving distributors and publicity teams a defined campaign calendar.

The process is particularly relevant for smaller productions competing against films and series backed by major studios and streaming platforms. Eligibility and submission do not guarantee nominations, but participation places qualifying work within the awards process.

The Globes' recognition of podcast programming also reflects the changing entertainment landscape, where storytelling and cultural influence extend beyond traditional film and television.

As the December nominations approach, attention will turn to which performances, productions and creative voices earn recognition.

For film and television audiences, the nominations will provide one early measure of the year's awards conversation, although they should not be treated as definitive predictions for the Oscars or other ceremonies.
