A sneak peek at Noah Wyle's upcoming second season of The Pitt

It’s time for a new shift at The Pitt! HBO Max has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Season 2. This announcement comes just ahead of the Emmys, where Season 1 garnered 13 nominations.

The ensemble cast, which is led by writer and executive producer Noah Wyle, includes Katherine LaNasa as Dr. Dana Evans, Taylor Dearden as Dr. Melissa King, Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon, Isa Briones as Dr. Trinity Santos, Fiona Dourif as Dr. Cassie McKay, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Samira Mohan, Shabana Azeez as Dr. Victoria Javadi, Gerran Howell as Dr. Dennis Whitaker, and guest star Shawn Hatosy as Dr. Jack Abbot.

In addition to Noah Wyle returning as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinovitch, Patrick Ball will reprise his role as Dr. Langdon, despite having been dismissed from the series last season.

Tracy Ifeachor will not reprise her role as Dr. Heather Collins in Season 2.

The new characters on the show include Lawrence Robinson, who will portray Brian Hancock, a charming patient who makes the most of his soccer injury, leading to a meet-cute with one of the doctors. Deadline reported on Robinson’s casting in this recurring role.

Additionally, Sepideh Moafi has joined Season 2 as an attending physician in emergency medicine.

Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, and Lucas Iverson have been added to the recurring cast, according to an exclusive report from Deadline. Additionally, Deadline announced that Zack Morris, known for his role in Goosebumps, will also appear in a recurring role.

The official storyline is “a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”

“Yeah, I am so curious to see, hopefully, where my character will go in Season 2. I would love to know myself,” she said with a laugh. “But I strongly agree. I think it would be so cool to see her realize the insight and have it play out in terms of knowing when to turn it off and when to go back home. Episode 15 effectively conveys this realization. I think Episode 15 is very intriguing because up until then, Samira is all about work. I think she has a personal life that’s kept under wraps—a lot more compared to a lot of the other characters. In Episode 15, you realize that her personal life is no longer a secret. s. There’s just no personal life. The past is just all there is. And I think Scott just did such a fantastic job of showing that. So, I’m curious to see if it goes forward in Season 2 as well.”

The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. R. Scott Gemmill is the series creator and serves as an executive producer alongside John Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow from JWP, and Simran Baidwan.
