Aaron Pierre joins Star Wars: Starfighter
Aaron Pierre is set to join the cast of the upcoming Star Wars film, alongside Ryan Gosling, Amy Adams, and others, as they venture into a galaxy far, incredibly away.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, production is currently underway for Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy. New cast additions include Pierre Adams, Flynn Gray, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings. Previous announcements revealed that Gosling, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith will also be part of the film. In addition to his acting role, Gosling will serve as an executive producer alongside Dan Levine, Josh McLaglen, and Mary McLaglen. Levy is set to produce the film in collaboration with Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm.
Currently, not much information is available about the film. However, we do know that Gosling is the lead, with Grey also in a significant role, while Goth and Smith are portraying villains. The film will be a standalone project separate from the Skywalker Saga. The only connection is that it takes place five years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Levy shared with the Hollywood Reporter that he feels “a profound sense of excitement and honor as we begin production on Star Wars: Starfighter.”
“From the day Kathy Kennedy called me up, inviting me to develop an original adventure in this incredible Star Wars galaxy, this experience has been a dream come true, creatively and personally,” Levy continued. “Star Wars shaped my sense of what a story can do and how characters and cinematic moments can live with us forever. To join this storytelling galaxy with such brilliant collaborators onscreen and off is the thrill of a lifetime.”
Star Wars: Starfighter is set for a May 28, 2027, release.
