Alexandra Shipp to Star in Psychological Horror Film The Autopsy of Albert Kemper
Actress Alexandra Shipp, known for her roles in Barbie, Anyone but You, and the X-Men franchise, is set to headline the new psychological horror film,
The Autopsy of Albert Kemper
. The project is currently in production in Minnesota and promises a terrifying, contained thriller experience.
The Premise: A Night of Terror at the Morgue
The film centers on Riley Shaw (Alexandra Shipp), a morgue assistant facing a terrifying and isolated night at work. The body brought in is that of notorious serial killer Albert Kemper (played by David Howard Thornton of Terrifier fame).
The horror unfolds when Kemper's body begins to show signs of life—or something "beyond death". The narrative draws inspiration from a real-life urban legend that circulated after Jeffrey Dahmer's death: rumors that authorities had to handcuff the serial killer's body to the gurney for fear he might "rise again".
The film is set to be an intense, psychological ride as Riley is trapped with the potentially reanimated corpse of a monster, forcing her to confront a nightmare that defies rational explanation.
The Cast and Creative Team
The Autopsy of Albert Kemper
is directed and written by David Benullo (Hallowed Ground). The cast also includes Golden Globe nominee Eric Stoltz (Pulp Fiction), though details on his specific role are currently undisclosed.
The film is produced by Epic Level Entertainment and others. The combination of Shipp's rising star power, Stoltz's veteran presence, and Thornton's established horror credentials makes this a highly anticipated independent horror project.
Production and Release
Production kicked off in November 2025 in Minnesota. An official release date has not yet been announced, but the film is expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.
