Arrested for allegedly charging at police, Lil Nas X is hospitalized for a possible overdose
Lil Nas X was arrested early Thursday morning for battery on a police officer after officers responded to calls about him wandering Ventura Blvd. in Studio City wearing only his underwear and cowboy boots.
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, was taken into custody at 5:50 a.m.
“Upon arrival, the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody,” Los Angeles Police Officer Charles Miller told Deadline. “He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a police officer.”
The Grammy-winning rapper was being held on the misdemeanor charge at Valley Jail in Van Nuys, according to inmate information records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
In a video posted by TMZ, Lil Nas X is seen singing and strutting down the street while wearing only white underwear and white cowboy boots. He tells a bystander, “Hey, don’t be late to the party tonight,” and adds, “Didn’t I tell you to put the phone down?”
In April, Lil Nas X disclosed that he had been hospitalized due to a mysterious case of partial facial paralysis.
He gained widespread recognition with the release of his 2018 country rap single “Old Town Road,” which dominated the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 consecutive weeks.
