Bobby Lee Finally Gets His First Stand-Up Special After 30 Years in Comedy

fter more than three decades making audiences laugh, Bobby Lee is finally getting his first hourlong stand-up comedy special. Hulu has announced that Bobby Lee: Finally will premiere November 27, 2026, giving the veteran comedian his first solo stand-up showcase on a major streaming platform.

The streamer also released the official trailer on Wednesday, offering audiences a preview of Lee's unpredictable humor and deeply personal storytelling.

Why Did Bobby Lee Wait 30 Years?

For longtime fans, the announcement raises an obvious question: Why did it take so long?

Despite spending decades performing stand-up, Lee has previously discussed his reluctance to record a full comedy special, including the pressure of developing new material and committing a performance to film.

Now, at 55, the comedian is taking that step with an hour that draws from his personal experiences, family life and career.

The special was filmed at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, Lee's hometown.

From MADtv to Podcast Stardom

Lee became a familiar face to television audiences during his eight-season run on MADtv from 2001 to 2009.

He subsequently appeared in numerous film and television projects, including Reservation Dogs, And Just Like That... and Happy Gilmore 2.

In recent years, he has built another substantial audience through his podcasts TigerBelly and Bad Friends, the latter co-hosted with comedian Andrew Santino.

His willingness to discuss personal struggles, relationships and uncomfortable subjects has become central to his comedic identity.

When Does 'Bobby Lee: Finally' Premiere?

The special is directed by comedian Louis Katz and produced by North Hill Productions.

Lee serves as executive producer alongside Bill Burr and Mike Bertolina.

Bobby Lee: Finally joins Hulu's Hularious comedy lineup, which has featured performers including Nikki Glaser, Roy Wood Jr., Jim Gaffigan, Kumail Nanjiani and Atsuko Okatsuka.

For a comedian who has spent much of his career appearing alongside other performers, Finally puts Lee alone onstage for a full hour.

Bobby Lee: Finally premieres Friday, November 27, on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in the United States.
