First Look at The Rip: Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Miami Heist on Netflix

Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, and others play law enforcement agents who face a moral quandary in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix thriller The Rip.
Joe Carnahan wrote and directed The Rip, which is based on a story by Carnahan and Michael McGrale. However, the money is undoubtedly illegal. According to the official description.
After uncovering millions of dollars in a dilapidated stash house, trust among a group of Miami cops begins to erode. As outside forces discover about the magnitude of the seizure, everything is thrown into doubt, including who they can trust.

The film also features Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, with Scott Adkins, and Kyle Chandler.

Carnahan shared about getting the all-star cast with Netflix’s Tudum, saying that the cast members “give you this wonderful sense of reality and authenticity.”

“It doesn’t feel like a bunch of actors just showed up five minutes before,” he said. “The bonding and spending time and people really, genuinely liking each other gave it this great feeling that is hard to capture. But when you get it, you’re so lucky and fortunate. All the performances are wonderful. It’s a testament to what happens when you get a bunch of talented people together, you give them something that they could relate to and latch onto and the results speak for themselves.”

Affleck and Damon co-produce with Danie Bernfeld and Luciana Damon. Kevin Halloran and Michael Joe are the executive producers for Artists Equity.

The Rip comes to Netflix Jan. 16.
