Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock
Hero Fiennes Tiffin Stars in Origin Story of Literature's Greatest Detective
The Case File
Setting: 1870s Oxford and beyond
Subject: 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes
Status: Raw, unfiltered, and facing his first murder case
Stakes: His freedom—and the birth of a legend
The game is afoot once again. After more than a decade away from 221B Baker Street, acclaimed director Guy Ritchie returns to the world of Sherlock Holmes with Young Sherlock, an explosive new Prime Video series that explores the untold origin story of literature's most iconic detective.
Prime Video unveiled first-look images from the highly anticipated series, revealing Hero Fiennes Tiffin (the After franchise, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare) as a young, rebellious Sherlock Holmes—decades before he becomes the master detective of Baker Street. The series premieres on Prime Video in 2026.
With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes feature films, Young Sherlock follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character's early days.
A Detective Unmade
Unlike every other incarnation of Sherlock Holmes—from Benedict Cumberbatch's modern genius to Robert Downey Jr.'s eccentric Victorian—Young Sherlock presents us with a version of the character we've never seen: a disgraced 19-year-old student at Oxford University who hasn't yet developed the legendary deductive skills, discipline, or reputation that will define him.
Based on Andy Lane's bestselling Young Sherlock book series, the show follows Holmes as he becomes embroiled in a murder case at Oxford that threatens his liberty. What begins as a desperate attempt to clear his name spirals into a globe-trotting conspiracy that takes him far beyond the hallowed halls of academia and sets him on the path to becoming the world's greatest detective.
