Top Boy Star Ashley Walters Joins the Cast of HBO's Dune: Prophecy Season 2

The world of Arrakis is getting bigger, and a big name is joining the fight. The highly anticipated second season of HBO's prequel series Dune: Prophecy has finally cast the well-known British actor Ashley Walters.
As shooting for the second season officially begins, Walters, who is best known for his dramatic lead role as Dushane in the blockbuster Netflix crime thriller Top Boy, joins a great group of new cast members.

Dune: Prophecy takes place 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve's Dune movies. It tells the story of how the powerful and mysterious sisterhood that would come to be known as the Bene Gesserit came to be. The first season, which started in November 2024, was about the Harkonnen sisters, Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams), as they built the early foundations of their order in a weak galactic kingdom.
Ashley Walters joins the cast with other big names including Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Tom Hollander (The White Lotus, Pirates of the Caribbean).
Producers are keeping new plot details secret to build excitement, so we don't know much about the character Walters will play. But his casting suggests a big part, since he has a strong screen presence and was nominated for an Emmy for Adolescence.

The news that Walters would be playing a role in the show came with the news that production for the second season, which will have eight episodes, is officially underway. Filming is happening in a number of countries, including Hungary, Jordan, and Spain. These countries have beautiful, real-world settings that are perfect for the Dune universe.
With a strong returning cast and these exciting new additions, Dune: Prophecy Season 2 is shaping up to be a gripping continuation of the complex politics and moral ambiguity of the sprawling Dune universe.
There hasn't been an official announcement on when Season 2 will come out, but fans should expect it to come out in late 2026 or early 2027.
