In Jesse Eisenberg's A24 musical comedy, Halle Bailey stars alongside Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti.
Halle Bailey has been added to the cast of Jesse Eisenberg's upcoming A24 musical comedy, joining Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Havana Rose Liu, and Bernadette Peters. This untitled film, Eisenberg's third directorial project, follows his Academy Award-winning "A Real Pain" and his debut "When You Finish Saving the World," which also starred Moore.
Deadline reports that the film features Moore as a timid woman who unexpectedly lands a role in a community theater musical. Although initially hesitant, Moore's character eventually "goes to extremes as she loses herself in the role." The film also stars Eldar Isgandarov, Colton Ryan, Lilli Cooper, Maulik Pancholy, and Bonnie Milligan.
The film, produced by Emma Stone and her producing partner Dave McCary through their production company, Fruit Tree, also has Ali Herting from Fruit Tree as a producer. Topic Studios will executive produce.
Halle Bailey, who starred in The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple, has been cast as a lead opposite Regé-Jean Page in the Universal Pictures film, Italianna.
