Our favorite Goth Girl Wednesday is back this fall
It's Wednesday, and it's also a very important news day.
Watch Jenna Ortega's twisted Wednesday Addams in the first trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the goth-horror-comedy sensation, which premieres on Netflix (below).
The debut dates for the second season have also been confirmed by the streaming service. The show will be released in two batches. Both halves will be released on separate dates: August 6 for the first and September 3 for the second.
In the trailer, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy, a private school for outcasts, for his second year. Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) mentions that her daughter has never wanted to return to school before, and Wednesday responds, "It's like returning to the scene of a crime — I already know where the bodies are buried." Later in the trailer, she states, "I do my best work in the dark."
The preview also features Wednesday's reunion with her energetic roommate Enid, played by Emma Myers, as well as glimpses of the rest of the Addams family, including Uncle Fester, Pugsley Addams, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez. A plethora of eerie dolls and Steve Buscemi, who plays the role of Barry Dort, the new principal of the school, are also introduced in the teaser.
New Cast Members include Billie Piper (Scoop), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), Owen Painter (Tiny Beautiful Things) and Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime). Also, there are many familiar names signed on for guest star roles: Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Frances O’Connor (The Missing), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries) and Joonas Suotamo. Lloyd also played Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family film.
The second season was filmed in Ireland — a change from the first season, which was primarily shot in Romania.
