OWN for the Holidays" is Back: Your Guide to the 2025 OWN Christmas Films

Get ready to turn your Christmas purple! The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) is back with its seventh annual "OWN for the Holidays" programming event, featuring three all-new original movies designed to warm your heart and celebrate Black joy during the festive season. The films feature a dynamic mix of beloved stars and rising talent, premiering on consecutive Saturdays starting November 29, 2025. You can watch the films on OWN and stream them on Max. 

The 2025 OWN Holiday Lineup

Each movie celebrates the true meaning of the season by putting love, friends, and family first, offering heartwarming stories with predominantly Black casts. 

Here are the details for each film:

Fake Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

: Premiering on Saturday, November 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, this film stars Kiki Layne and Etienne Maurice. The story follows a professor who gets involved in a stranger's family holiday after telling a white lie about their relationship.

The Christmas Showdown

: Airing Saturday, December 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, this movie features Amber Stevens West, Corbin Reid, and Loretta Devine. It tells the story of former childhood friends who become rivals for the same event design job and must work together to impress a tough producer.

Very Merry Mystery

: On Saturday, December 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Ashleigh Murray and Tristan Mack Wilds star in this film about a beauty shop owner who teams up with her detective boyfriend to solve a murder mystery that turns real at a Christmas party.
