Shrek 5" Adds "SNL" Star Marcello Hernandez to Voice Cast as Ogre Son
The Shrek universe is growing! Marcello Hernandez, a breakout star from Saturday Night Live, has officially joined the voice cast of the highly anticipated
Shrek 5
. In a special Thanksgiving announcement, DreamWorks Animation confirmed that Hernandez will voice one of Shrek and Fiona's sons, Fergus.
The film, which marks the franchise's return to the big screen after over a decade, is set to arrive in theaters on June 30, 2027.
The New Ogre Generation
Marcello Hernandez joins a star-studded cast that includes both returning franchise veterans and new additions. He will voice Fergus alongside fellow newcomer Skyler Gisondo (Superman, Booksmart), who is cast as his brother, Farkle.
The pair join Zendaya, who was previously announced as the voice of Shrek and Fiona's daughter, Felicia. The three children, who first appeared as infants in Shrek Forever After, will be teenagers in the new installment, bringing a new family dynamic to the film.

The casting news was shared with a humorous video across social media showing the two actors getting into character. Hernandez, known for his popular "Domingo" character on SNL, went all-out, painting himself green, while Gisondo simply wore a Shrek hat.
Directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, Shrek 5 promises a thrilling new adventure in the land of Far Far Away.
