Prime Video Reveals Cast for La Señora, a Chilean Legal Thriller Inspired by a Real Crime

Prime Video is continuing to invest in Latin American storytelling. On Wednesday, the streamer announced the cast of La Señora, a new Chilean original series it describes as a legal crime thriller that explores bitterness, revenge, and wickedness.

Amparo Noguera, one of Chile's most respected actresses, leads the cast as Catalina Rojas, an arrogant upper-middle-class woman who becomes the main suspect in the attempted murder of several members of her own family. The first-look image shows Noguera with blonde hair, a noticeable change for an actress audiences know well from decades of television, film, and theater.

Carmen Gloria Bresky plays Inés, the investigator trying to find out what happened and how much responsibility Catalina bears in a case that threatens to destroy her family. Daniel Alcaíno, Carolina Paulsen, and Nicolás Brown round out the cast.

Inspired by true events

La Señora is inspired by a real Chilean criminal case, though the series tells a fictionalized version of the story. Prime Video hasn't said which case inspired it, but Chilean audiences are likely to start speculating right away.

A strong team behind the camera

Argentine filmmakers Constanza Novick and Maria Zanetti direct and write the series, working with writers Josefina Fernández and Tamara Talesnik. Production comes from Fábula, the internationally acclaimed Chilean company behind the Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film, A Fantastic Woman. With that pedigree, La Señora deserves attention outside Chile.

Why it matters

The announcement comes just days after Prime Video premiered Catedrales, another Chilean original, and it shows the streamer's growing commitment to Latin American productions. For audiences in the U.S., that means more access to stories told from inside the region rather than about it. A female-led thriller from a Chilean creative team with Fábula behind it is exactly the kind of international TV worth watching.

No premiere date has been announced yet, but La Señora will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories. Cup of Soul will share the date when it's announced.
