Ray J Arrested on Thanksgiving Day After Livestream Gun Incident with Ex-Wife Princess Love
R&B singer and entrepreneur Ray J was arrested early Thanksgiving morning on November 27, 2025, in Los Angeles following a reported domestic dispute that was allegedly captured on a heated social media livestream. The artist, whose legal name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department and charged with making a criminal threat.
The Incident: Threats and a Livestream
Authorities responded to a domestic violence call at Ray J's home in the Porter Ranch area around 4 a.m. The situation reportedly escalated rapidly, with portions of the confrontation inadvertently captured on a social media livestream.
In the video, a visibly upset Ray J can be heard ranting about having the "worst Thanksgiving" and accusing his estranged wife, Princess Love (who he is in the process of divorcing), of trying to drive while intoxicated with their children. Princess Love, seen on camera holding their daughter, accused him of pointing a gun at them, an allegation he denied in the moment.
The audio from the livestream captured a volatile scene where Ray J allegedly yelled threats, including "I'll kill you" and "get out of my house before I shoot you right now" to a man who entered the room. Multiple firearms were later recovered at the scene by police.
Ray J, 44, was arrested and booked on a felony charge of making a criminal threat (California Penal Code section 422a). His bail was set at $50,000, which he posted later the same day, securing his release. The case will now be moved to the district attorney's office for review.
This incident marks another public escalation in the couple's notoriously rocky relationship, which has been documented across reality TV and social media for years.
