Tulsa King is getting a spin-off starring Samuel L. Jackson
The Taylor Sheridan universe continues to expand at Paramount+, with Samuel L. Jackson slated to feature in Tulsa King, a spinoff of the Sylvester Stallone series.
The series was first announced in the trades, and according to Variety, the project is now titled NOLA King. Jackson's character will be introduced in the third season of Tulsa King, where he will guest star in an episode.
There aren't many specific facts about the series, other that Jackson's protagonist character will be comparable to Stallone's in Tulsa King.
According to Deadline, Jackson is expected to play Russell Lee Washington Jr., who, like Stallone's Dwight 'The General' Manfredi, comes from a criminal background. He will face Dwight in Tulsa before heading south to take over New Orleans.
Dave Erickson, who worked on Tulsa King and Sheridan's Mayor of Kingston, will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the project. Sheridan also serves as an executive producer, alongside David C. Glasser of 101 Studios. MTV Entertainment Studios is also behind the project.
Tulsa King has started filming Season 3 back in March in Atlanta and Oklahoma.
Stallone plays Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a New York mafia capo who is released from prison after 25 years and forced to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma by his employer. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests at heart, Dwight gradually assembles a "crew" of unusual personalities to assist him in establishing a new criminal empire in a place that to him may as well be another planet.
