Another Power spinoff is in the works

Starz is developing another Power series, Power: Legacy, led by Michael Rainey Jr. and Joseph Sikora, and will open a writers' room alongside the previously announced Power: Origins.

Deadline reports The project is presently nameless, but it is also referred to as Power: Legacy. Gary Lennon and Kendra Chapman created Power Book IV: Force, and Lennon serves as showrunner.

The writers' room is set to open soon, according to Deadline. Sikora and Rainey are expected to lead the new series, which will be set in the present and include them reprising their roles as Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick.

The project joins Power: Origins, another Power sequel in development that will follow a young Ghost (formerly played by Omari Hardwick) and Tommy. Power Book III: The showrunner would be Raising Kanan's Sascha Penn, and according to Deadline, "development has progressed, with a writers' room currently open and its pickup chances looking good, we hear."

The prospective series would be Power's fourth and fifth spinoff, following Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. Force and Kanan's forthcoming seasons will be their last.

There are no particular information regarding each possible series, but we can fairly assume a lot already. Power: Origins would most likely continue events from Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which recently introduced a major character in Shameik Moore's Breeze, and could easily introduce younger versions of Tommy, Ghost, Tasha, Angela, and others with Kanan.

Power: Legacy could easily start up where Power Book II: Ghost, which included Sikora, and Power Book IV: Force left off.

The Power franchise is executive produced by Power creator Courtney A. Kemp (End of Episode), Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson (G-Unit Film and Television), and Mark Canton (Canton Entertainment).
