Marcus Scribner joins “Boston Blue”

CBS' Boston Blue continues to put together the Silver family. Marcus Scribner (Black-ish) has been cast as a series regular in the planned Blue Bloods spinoff. He joins previous cast members Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Ernie Hudson, Maggie Lawson, and Gloria Reuben.

In Boston Blue, Wahlberg reprises his Blue Bloods role as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan, who joins the Boston Police Department. Once in Boston, he is assigned to Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prestigious law enforcement family.

Reuben plays Mae Silver, Boston's District Attorney and the matriarch of a mixed family of law enforcement officials. Her daughter is Lena, and her stepdaughter, Sarah (Lawson), is the police superintendent. Her son Jonah (Scribner) is a rookie cop, and her father is Reverend Peters (Hudson).

Scribner's Jonah is the youngest member of the Silver family and works in law enforcement with his mother and sisters, all of whom are formidable in their own right. Growing up, Jonah was always the cool kid, carrying himself with confidence and swagger in every scenario, so he's naturally dissatisfied to be a rookie cop on the sidelines of the city's largest investigations.

Boston Blue is created by CBS Studios in collaboration with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis will showrun and executive produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Wahlberg will also serve as executive producers. Anthony Hemingway will direct and executive produce the first episode.

Scribner is most known for his role on ABC's Black-ish, which he repeated in the Freeform spinoff Grown-ish. Variety originally reported on his casting.
