Blindsided: Patrick Reveals His Reaction to Kacie's Breakup

Love Is Blind season nine star Patrick Suzuki shared his feelings after Kacie McIntosh, whom he dated in the pods, cited a lack of physical attraction for their breakup.

During the early episodes of season nine of Love Is Blind, viewers witnessed the connection between Denver residents Patrick Suzuki and Kacie McIntosh develop in the pods. This ultimately led to their engagement, despite them having never seen each other.

However, their relationship took a significant turn almost immediately after they met in person, with Kacie, 34, later attributing the breakup to a lack of physical attraction.

“He’s not a bad-looking guy in any sense, but he deserves somebody that is so obsessed with him,” the hair and makeup artist said in a confessional interview during episode six. “I just, unfortunately, don’t think my attraction to him is gonna grow that much, and it sucks.

Patrick, 31, felt “completely blindsided” as he questioned his ex's true intentions for participating in the dating experiment.

“I had a range of thoughts,” he told People in an interview published Oct. 3. “Is it because I'm ugly? Is it because I'm not cool? Is it because I'm too much? Is it because she already had a boyfriend? Is it because she wanted to be famous?”

While watching the episodes gave Patrick some clarity about the situation, he admitted that dealing with the breakup remained “pretty tough.”

“It took me many months of travel, many months of therapy and stuff like that,” he continued. “The closure, I figured out pretty quickly. The healing part was the hard part. And then after watching it... I guess it did help a little bit.”

The construction manager, who shared his insecurities about dating as an Asian man in a predominantly white community, expressed gratitude for his experience with Kacie, despite the drama.

“It definitely cleaned up a lot of insecurities,” he shared with Tudum in an interview published Oct. 1. “I wouldn’t have done that without Kacie. Going through the reveal really helped me break free from everything that I've been dealing with for many, many years.”

New episodes of Love Is Blind are set to premiere on Netflix on October 8. In the meantime, continue scrolling for additional information about the season nine cast.
