Eva Longoria's Kim Kardashian Comedy 'The Fifth Wheel' Set to Premiere Next Spring

Eva Longoria's second feature as a director is nearly finished. Longoria said her R-rated comedy The Fifth Wheel, starring Kim Kardashian, is locking picture this week and will premiere in spring 2027.

Longoria shared the update with People at the Día de Muertos Gala at the Universal Studios backlot on Oct. 27, in an interview published Sunday. "We're in post. We actually are locking this week, and we will be premiering in the spring of next year," she said, calling Kardashian "a dream" to direct.

A girls' trip to Las Vegas

The film follows a group of high school best friends, played by Nikki Glaser, Fortune Feimster and Brenda Song, whose Las Vegas reunion is upended by a "hot outsider" played by Kardashian. Longoria told People the cast also includes Will Ferrell, Casey Wilson, Kristen Wiig, 50 Cent and Jack Whitehall.

Longoria has described the project as "a big, unapologetically R-rated female comedy." She said the film took three months to shoot and that she hopes it sparks more female-led comedies.

The Fifth Wheel follows Longoria's 2023 directorial debut, Flamin' Hot, which chronicled the creation of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. With a second feature and an ensemble this size, the Latina star continues to build a career behind the camera alongside her work in front of it.

Longoria told People that working with the cast made it "very hard to not have a good time every day," adding that she and Kardashian have been friends for 25 years.

A distributor and exact release date for The Fifth Wheel were not part of the update.
