This time, the fan-favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are engaged in the ultimate, no-holds-barred, gruesome battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn, which poses a threat to the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Karl Urban portrays Johnny Cage in the film, which also features Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, and Damon Herriman. Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, and Joe Taslim play Lord Raiden, Bi-Han, and Scorpion, respectively. Hiroyuki Sanada plays Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.

The sequel to his electrifying 2021 cinematic adventure, directed by Simon McQuoid, is based on the videogame developed by Ed Boon and John Tobias. The screenplay was penned by Jeremy Slater. Todd Garner, James Wan, Toby Emmerich, E. Bennett Walsh, and McQuoid are the producers of the film, while Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Slater, and Lawrence Kasanoff serve as executive producers.

Director of photography Stephen F. Windon, production designer Yohei Taneda, editor Stuart Levy, and costume designer Cappi Ireland will be joining McQuoid behind the camera. Rich Delia will be casting the role, and Benjamin Wallfisch will be providing the music.

Mortal Kombat II, a Fireside Films Production, is presented by New Line Cinema in an Atomic Monster/Broken Road production. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film worldwide, but it will be available exclusively in theaters and IMAX® across North America on October 24, 2025, and internationally starting on October 22, 2025.
