The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants
has just dropped, and it promises a cinematic adventure so big, you'll "lose your pants". Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies have unveiled the latest look at the fourth theatrical film in the franchise, which is set to splash into theaters on December 19, 2025.
A Quest for Bravery and the Flying Dutchman
The new animated adventure features SpongeBob attempting to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by pursuing the legendary ghost pirate, the Flying Dutchman. This quest takes him into unfamiliar, "pants-wettingly" scary territory outside of Bikini Bottom. The trailer showcases updated 3D animation combined with 2D elements.
A Star-Studded Cast
The film features the voices of the main cast, including Tom Kenny, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, and Bill Fagerbakke. They are joined by guest stars such as George Lopez, Ice Spice (who also performs an original song in the trailer), Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola, Regina Hall, and Mark Hamill as the Flying Dutchman.
