Kaitlin Olson's High Potential now has a return date.
ABC will premiere Season 3 of the crime drama on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 9 p.m. ET as part of the network's 2027 midseason schedule, TVLine reported. The season also includes a special episode airing after Super Bowl LXI on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 10:15 p.m. ET.
The Super Bowl slot was first announced in October. As TheWrap noted at the time, the episode will air on both ABC and Disney+, and broadcasters typically save the post-game spot for their best-rated or most anticipated shows.
Why ABC is betting on 'High Potential'
According to TheWrap, High Potential finished the 2025-26 broadcast season as the No. 1 show among adults 18 to 49, the key demographic for advertisers. It also ranked third in total viewers over 35 days of viewing, drawing more than 16 million viewers across ABC, Hulu and digital platforms. New episodes air Tuesdays on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu.
Olson stars as a single mom with an exceptional mind and a knack for solving crimes. The ensemble includes Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes. Drew Goddard created the U.S. series, which is based on the French show Haut Potentiel Intellectuel.
Jan. 5 will be a full night for ABC. Will Trent opens its fifth season at 8 p.m. ET as the lead-in to High Potential, and the new series Surviving a Scandal follows at 10 p.m. The next night brings The Rookie Season 9 and Jay Ellis' spinoff The Rookie North, and Abbott Elementary returns Jan. 13.
Super Bowl Sunday will also bring a new Disney drama to streaming. Hulu will follow its broadcast of the game with the premiere of Christopher Meloni's The Land.
