Dan Fogelman is taking his family-drama touch to the NFL. The Land, the This Is Us creator's new football series for Hulu, premieres Feb. 15, just hours after Super Bowl LXI airs on ABC and Disney+, ABC7 reported when Hulu released the first trailer Oct. 13. It will stream on Hulu and on Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States, and international viewers can watch the premiere on Disney+, according to The Movie Blog.
What 'The Land' is about
The series is set inside the Cleveland Browns. According to Hulu's official description, quoted by ABC7, head coach Danny Roarke gets one last chance to turn the team around after several disappointing seasons, and his fate rests on a newly drafted Ohio State quarterback who happens to be his son. At the same time, team owner Hal Durkin has to decide which of his two daughters is best equipped to take over the franchise.
The cast includes Christopher Meloni, Mandy Moore, William H. Macy as owner Hal Durkin, Omar Epps, Chace Crawford, Chloe Bennet, Sam Corlett, Tanner Zagarino and Bridget Moynahan.
Moynahan, who played Erin Reagan on Blue Bloods for all 14 seasons, joined the show in March. TVLine reported at the time that she would play Belinda, the ex-wife of Meloni's head coach, as a series regular. Hulu has not confirmed every character in its promotional materials.
Moore reunites with Fogelman after six seasons on This Is Us. Fogelman also created Hulu's Paradise, and he serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer of The Land, which comes from 20th Television and Skydance Sports, The Movie Blog reported.
Hulu has not announced how many episodes the first season will have or how they will be released after the premiere.
