Jamie Foxx Returns With New Hularious Original Comedy Special "Take Care of Yourself," Premiering October 7 on Hulu
Jamie Foxx is heading back to the stage — and back to streaming. Hulu has announced the title, premiere date, and first-look photo for the Academy Award winner's new stand-up special, "Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself," part of the platform's Hularious Original Comedy banner.
The special premieres October 7, 2026, on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally.
A Full-Circle Moment in Oakland
"Take Care of Yourself" was recorded live earlier this year at the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts' Calvin Simmons Theater in Oakland, California—the same 1,350-seat venue where Foxx competed in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition more than three decades ago, a break he's credited with helping launch his career. Returning to that stage to film a new special is a full-circle moment for the comedian, actor, singer, and producer, who has spent much of the past few years focused primarily on film work.
Foxx's Comedy Comeback Continues
The new Hulu special extends a stand-up comeback Foxx kicked off in December 2024 with Netflix's "What Had Happened Was...," his first special in over two decades. That special show saw Foxx address his 2023 medical emergency—a brain bleed that led to a stroke—head-on, turning a frightening health scare into a meditation on resilience, gratitude, and the power of humor to heal. With "Take Care of Yourself," Foxx appears to be leaning further into that same voice: one that blends comedy with candor about what it means to actually look after yourself, physically and mentally, after coming that close to losing everything.
For Hulu, landing Foxx adds another marquee name to its growing Hularious original comedy slate, joining recent specials like Ilana Glazer's "Human Magic."
