LaKeith Stanfield to Play Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate's '48 Hours in Vegas'

Oscar-nominated actor LaKeith Stanfield will portray NBA star Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate's film

48 Hours in Vegas. Stanfield is replacing Jonathan Majors in the role. The film focuses on Rodman's trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA Finals, an event highlighted in The Last Dance documentary. Rodman reportedly took a 48-hour break during the finals and was supposedly retrieved from a hotel by Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson to return for the championship. 

Rick Famuyiwa is directing the film, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producing. Dennis Rodman is an executive producer. Stanfield has expressed enthusiasm for the role. Lionsgate has referred to Rodman as a "cultural phenomenon". A release date for

has not yet been announced.
