Lifetime's "Girl In The Cellar" to feature Kyla Pratt and Kelcey Mawema

Lifetime will expand its Girl In franchise with the release of Girl in the Cellar, the most recent Ripped from the Headlines suspense. The film is scheduled to debut on Lifetime on Saturday, August 23, at 8/7c, and will feature Kyla Pratt (The Proud Family) and Kelcey Mawema (Cruel Instruction). If you have not yet seen any of the previous films in the franchise and wish to catch up, Girl in the Cellar is the next installment in the series, following Girl in the Attic, Girl in the Garage, The Girl Locked Upstairs, Girl in the Video, Girl in Room 13, Girl in the Basement, Girl in the Bunker, Girl in the Box, and Girl in the Shed, among others.

Premise: Rebecca (Pratt) becomes increasingly apprehensive that her daughter Lory (Mawema) is not making the appropriate life decisions. The final straw is when Rebecca discovers that Lory has a secret lover. In order to prevent any further errors, she has Lory confined to their basement cellar. Lory is unaware that this crypt is the same location where Rebecca was confined by her abusive father many years ago. The neighbors begin to notice Lory's absence as she fights for survival, and Rebecca's behavior piques suspicion, rendering her a leading suspect in her daughter's disappearance. Rebecca is consumed by her traumatic past, which haunts her as she struggles to reconcile her actions with the conflicting emotions of remorse and justification that accompany them.

Girl in the Cellar is produced by Navid Soofi for PF Maple Productions Inc in association with Studio TF1 America.  Executive producers are Timothy O. Johnson, Meghan Hooper White and Amelia Burstyn. Robert Adetuyi directs from a script written by Eva Gonzalez Szigriszt.
