Malcolm D. Lee's Universal/Blumhouse thriller will star Chloe Bailey, Lucien Laviscount, Lynn Whitfield, Anna Diop, and more

Malcolm D. Lee's next horror picture, produced by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, will star Chloe Bailey, Lynn Whitfield, Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop, Romy Woods, and Coco Jones.

The project is currently untitled, but the Girls Trip and The Best Man director will work from a script written by Alan McElroy and Matthew Mixon.

There are no narrative information available because the film's details are kept under wraps.

It appears that this could be Laviscount's greatest feature role yet, following his appearance in Netflix's Emily in Paris. He also appears in the upcoming Netflix romantic film People We Meet on Vacation.

It appears to be Bailey's highest-profile feature picture part yet, as she returns to Universal after appearing in the Will Packer-produced Peacock film Praise This. She also has another lead role coming up in the film Goons, which stars Michael Rainey Junior.

Coco Jones is another a Universal family member, having starred in Peacock's Bel-Air, while Diop has been in Universal and Jordan Peele's Us. Whitfield, a legendary veteran actor of Black Hollywood, is currently appearing in Showtime's The Chi series.

Lee's Girls Trip made him the first filmmaker with an all-Black creative team to gross more than $100 million at the box office. He also has a long history with Universal, as his The Best Man franchise is situated there. The most recent installment in the franchise was the Peacock limited series The Best Man: The Final Chapters.
