Tyler Perry's Straw Trailer: Taraji P. Henson's World Unravels In A Netflix Film With Teyana Taylor And More

Tyler Perry's new Netflix feature Tyler Perry's Straw, which stars Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, Sherri Shepherd, Sinbad, and others, has released its first trailer.

The film also features Rockmond Dunbar, Ashley Versher, Mike Merrill, and Glynn Turman. Perry directed and wrote the film, which was produced by Perry, Tony L. Strickland, and Angi Bones.

Here is the logline: A single mother's world unravels in turmoil as her day progresses from bad to worse to disastrous as she strives to care for her ailing daughter. Pushed to the verge by a world that appears unconcerned about her life, she is forced to make hard decisions in a society that provides no safety net.

In a twist of fate, Janiyah, played by Henson, holds a bank hostage, as shown in the trailer.

On the film and Henson's role, Perry told Netflix's Tudum, "She's just trying to survive, just trying to be a great mother to her daughter, and then the circumstances in her life force her to be in this scenario. I believe that many individuals around the world, whether they are Black women or not, will be able to identify to the sensation of, 'I've reached my limit.'"
