The film centers on Val (Tisha Campbell), a stay-at-home mom in her 50s dealing with empty-nest syndrome and a strained relationship with her husband, Ross (Russell Hornsby). Seeking to rekindle her marriage and find renewed purpose, Val travels to New Orleans to support her pregnant daughter. During this trip, she reconnects with forgotten dreams and encounters Peter Mosley (Mekhi Phifer), a photographer who helps her see herself differently. Val is then faced with a significant decision about her life and happiness.
