Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who began dating in 2023, have announced their engagement on Instagram. The couple shared a series of photos on August 26, showcasing their romantic proposal and Swift's exquisite engagement ring.
Kelce, the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end, collaborated with jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck and Artifex Fine Jewelry to create the ring. Artifex Fine Jewelry is known for its luxury designs, with pieces like the Deametra ring retailing upwards of $33,650. Swift's new sparkler features a massive Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond, a rectangle-cut diamond with antique characteristics, which Kelce designed with Lubeck.
For the special occasion, which included a beautiful floral arrangement, Swift, also 35, wore a $398 pinstripe Polo Ralph Lauren halter dress. She completed her look with gold accessories, tan sandal heels, and her signature red lip, this time in a pink coral hue.
After Swift attended her first football game to support the NFL star and the Kansas City Chiefs in September 2023, the couple went public with their relationship in October 2023 when they were seen holding hands at a Saturday Night Live afterparty. The pair later discussed their initial meeting and Kelce's public date proposal, which involved his plan to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it, during her debut on the New Heights podcast.
"Andy Reid was vouching for you," Swift said, giving the Kansas City Chiefs head coach and longtime friend of her dad, Scott, credit. "There were a lot of people whispering in my ear about you.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift wrote in the caption. Kelce proposed with a ring he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The dazzling stone is an "Old Mine brilliant cut," which Swift shows off in a series of photos announcing the big news.
One engagement photo captures Kelce on bended knee, proposing to Swift, who tenderly cradles his face. Additional images depict the couple embracing and seated on a bench beneath a trellis adorned with pink and white flowers.
