Tipping, Peel and Marlon Wayans team up in “Him”

The debut trailer for Universal Pictures' latest film, Him, produced by Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions, stars Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers and provides a disturbing glimpse into the depths a talented football player will go to become a legend.

Him, directed by Justin Tipping and based on a scenario by Tipping and Limetown writers Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, follows Withers' character.

It also stars Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker (who previously appeared in Monkeypaw Productions' Us), Jim Jeffries, MMA champion Maurice Greene, Guapdad 4000, and Tierra Whack. This film commemorates the film debuts of Greene, Guapdad, and Whack.

Withers, a former collegiate wide receiver in real life, portrays rising football sensation Cameron Cade, who is preparing for the NFL's annual scouting combine. He then gets a catastrophic brain injury as a result of an agitated fan's attack.

When Cam feels that his career is slipping away, Isaiah White (Wayans), an eight-time championship quarterback and cultural legend, invites him to practice at his remote estate, which he shares with his wife, celebrity influencer Elsie White (Fox).

"But as Cam's training accelerates, Isaiah's charisma begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for," according to the film synopsis.

Jordan Peele collaborates with Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson on the production of Monkeypaw. Kate Oh of Monkeypaw and David Kern co-executive produce.

The film will open in theaters on September 19. Watch the trailer below:
