Yara Shahidi Joins Jason Statham in The Beekeeper 2 Cast

The Beekeeper 2 will feature Yara Shahidi. Variety has reported that Shahidi will be paired with Jason Statham in the forthcoming sequel to 2024's The Beekeeper. Production on the Amazon MGM Studios film is scheduled to commence this autumn. Shahidi's role remains unknown; it is presently being concealed. However, the initial film featured Phylicia Rashad as Statham's motherly landlady.

Last year, Ayer discussed Rashad's role in The Beekeeper with Shadow and Act, referring to her as "America's mother."

He stated, "She is a genuinely good person who is gracious and kind, and this is evident on camera." "The connection between her and Jason is crucial because she is someone we care about, and we are ensuring that justice is served, which is a necessary outcome."

It is possible that Shahidi's character is interconnected with Rashad's. Alternatively, it is possible that her role is entirely unrelated.

The initial Beekeeper, which was directed by David Ayer, grossed $162 million on a global scale. Timo Tjahjanto, the director of Nobody 2, will serve as the director of the sequel. Kurt Wimmer, who served as the screenwriter for the initial film, has returned to the role. Wimmer and Longshot Productions' Chris Long will collaborate with Statham to produce the film through Punch Palace Productions.
