Hogwarts just got its first official teaser — and it dropped today. HBO's long-awaited Harry Potter series, now officially titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for its first season, is currently in production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, with a Christmas 2026 premiere on HBO and a planned seven-season run across the next decade. Here is everyone heading to the castle.

Behind the camera, Succession writer Francesca Gardiner serves as showrunner and executive producer, with Game of Thrones veteran Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. Hans Zimmer is composing the score. The series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, David Heyman (Heyday Films), and Neil Blair. Each of the seven books will be adapted into its own season — Season 1 covering The Philosopher's Stone across eight episodes. HBO Max president JB Perrette called it "the biggest streaming event in the history of HBO Max, and arguably in streaming, period."

The first official image — Harry in his Gryffindor Quidditch robes approaching the pitch at Hogwarts — dropped yesterday. The teaser trailer followed today. Whatever your feelings about the franchise's complicated cultural moment right now, one thing is undeniable: the creative team assembled here is formidable, the casting is bold, and the world is watching.
