Aldis Hodge joins Jake Gyllenhaal in Road House sequel at Amazon MGM Studios.
Via Deadline-Following the successful launch of the Cross TV series on Prime, Amazon is looking to continue its collaboration with Aldis Hodge. He is set to join Jake Gyllenhaal in the sequel to Road House for Amazon MGM Studios. Ilya Naishuller, the film's director, has recently added Dave Bautista and Leila George to the cast. Will Beall is writing the script.
Details about the plot of the sequel remain under wraps, but Gyllenhaal starred in the 2024 reboot as an ex-UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. Doug Liman directed that reboot.
Producers for the sequel include Charles Roven and Alex Gartner from Atlas Entertainment, along with Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin from Nine Stories Productions.
Hodge and Amazon have strong ties following the success of the first season of the Alex Cross series, Cross. The second season is set to bow next year, with Hodge set to return as the iconic detective.
On the film side, Aldis Hodge appears in DC's Black Adam, One Night in Miami from Amazon MGM Studios, and Straight Outta Compton. He is represented by WME, Viewpoint, and Ziffren.
