First trailer for Kiss of the Spiderwoman

Kiss of the Spider Woman, which stars Jennifer Lopez, Diego Luna, and Tonatiuh, has published its debut trailer.

The film is the newest effort from Dreamgirls director Bill Condon, and it marks Condon's return to the cinema musical landscape. The project is based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which is itself based on the 1976 novel.

Here is the description: Valentín (Diego Luna), a political prisoner, shares a cell with Molina (Tonatiuh), a window dresser sentenced for public immorality. The two create an odd relationship as Molina describes the narrative of a Hollywood musical featuring his favorite actress, Ingrid Luna (Jennifer Lopez).

It was well welcomed after its premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, with critics describing it as one of Jennifer Lopez's best performances. Tonatiuh, known for his television appearances in Vida and Promised Land, received a lot of attention in his largest film role yet. Following its festival premiere, the picture was sold to Roadside Attractions, Lionsgate, and LD Entertainment.

The original novel was written by Manuel Puig, and Terrence McNally collaborated with composer/lyricist John Kander and Fred Ebb to create the Broadway musical of the same title. This film adaptation was written by Condon, with Lopez and Luna serving as executive producers. Barry Josephson, Tom Kirdahy, and Greg Yolen are the producers.
