Jensen Ackles is back for Season 3 of Tracker

After everything Colter Shaw learned about his father's death, he will need someone to help him make sense of it all. That’s where Jensen Ackles comes in.

TVLine can exclusively reveal the first photo from Tracker's Season 3 premiere, which brings together Colter and his previously estranged brother, Russell. Additionally, we can confirm that the premiere is a two-part event, with Ackles appearing in both episodes, which will air on Sundays, Oct. 19 and 26, at 8/7c on CBS.

Part 1 is titled "The Process," and the official logline reads as follows:

As Colter grapples with the stunning revelation of his father's demise, he joins forces with Russell to locate the vanished wife and daughter of a Reenie client. Their collaboration propels them into a chain of events tied to a nefarious covert enterprise known as 'The Process.'

In Season 2, Episode 2 of Tracker, Ackles appeared as one of the Shaw brothers, who became targets of an unnamed government contractor investigating unidentified aerial phenomena. This contractor had a past working relationship with their deceased father, Ashton. The Season 2 finale saw Colter confronting Otto Waldron, a mysterious lineman. Waldron confessed to pushing Ashton off a cliff over two decades ago and implicated Colter and Russell's mother, Mary, in seeking his help that night, though the nature of her request is still unknown. Russell is expected to return to aid his brother in his ongoing quest for answers.

“Jensen is gainfully employed at Amazon on Countdown and The Boys prequel, Vought Rising, but we’ll take as much of him as we can get,” Tracker showrunner Elwood Reid tells TVLine. “He and I go back because we worked on Big Sky together. Despite his hectic schedule, I managed to fit him into this role, and he completed two episodes for me. He’s wonderful. I just got done editing Episode 2, and [he andJustin Hartley] are amazing together. It’s so much fun.”

Tracker's third season will see the departure of Eric Graise and Abby McEnany, who played Bobby and Velma. According to TVLine, only Fiona Rene, returning as attorney Reenie Green, will join Justin Hartley (Colter Shaw) this fall.
