Paris Jackson is seeking a court order directing the executors of her late father Michael Jackson's estate to transfer approximately $600 million into a family trust established for his beneficiaries.
According to court documents reported by People and TheWrap, Jackson argues that the Michael Jackson Family Trust remains unfunded more than 17 years after the singer's death in June 2009.
The trust was established to benefit Jackson's children, Paris, Prince and Bigi, along with other designated beneficiaries.
Paris contends that the estate has generated substantial revenue through music rights, licensing agreements and other business transactions, yet has not transferred sufficient assets into the trust.
An estate accounting reportedly showed approximately $850 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of 2024.
Her filing argues that roughly $600 million could be transferred after accounting for outstanding obligations.
The estate's executors dispute that position, citing unresolved legal and financial matters, including an ongoing tax dispute with the Internal Revenue Service.
They maintain that more than $200 million has already been distributed for the beneficiaries' benefit and deny improperly withholding payments.
The dispute is the latest legal disagreement surrounding the administration of one of the entertainment industry's most valuable musical estates.
Since Michael Jackson's death, his catalog, recordings and commercial partnerships have continued to generate significant revenue.
The case also raises broader questions about estate transparency and the management of intellectual property belonging to deceased artists.
The court has not determined whether the requested transfer should proceed.
A hearing is scheduled for December 4, when the parties are expected to address the latest dispute over the trust's funding.
