Power Book V: Influence" Adds New Cast Members; Production Underway

The ever-expanding universe of the Starz crime drama

Power is continuing to grow, with the fifth spin-off series,

Power Book V: Influence, adding two new series regulars to its cast. Production for the new series, which centers on the character Rashad Tate (played by Larenz Tate), officially began in late November 2025.

The Premise: The Politics of Power

Power Book V: Influence focuses on the complex, morally ambiguous world of politics through the eyes of Councilman Rashad Tate. Known for his cunning, ruthless ambition, and willingness to do anything to gain power, the series is expected to dive deep into Tate's ascent, exploring whether he can use his street smarts to climb the ladder of New York City and national politics.

The show promises the same high-stakes drama and episodic cliffhangers that made the original

Power series a phenomenon, focusing on the overlap between criminal enterprises and legitimate political power.

The Cast: Veterans and Fresh Faces

Larenz Tate (known for Menace II Society, Love Jones) returns as the lead character. He will be joined by new cast members:

  • Pardison Fontaine (Book III: Raising Kanan cameo) as a series regular in an undisclosed role.

  • Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live) in a major, currently undisclosed role.

Other original cast members from the

Power universe are expected to make guest appearances as the narrative ties into the broader

Power timeline.

Production and Release Date

The series is created by Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and is produced by Lionsgate Television. While a premiere date has not been officially announced, fans can expect the show to arrive on Starz in late 2026 or early 2027.
