Muhammad Ali's story finally gets the prestige-TV treatment this week, Tracy Morgan's NBC comedy is back and the City of God saga returns to the favela. Here are the TV and streaming premieres worth your time from Monday, Nov. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 8.
The must-sees
The Greatest (Prime Video, Wednesday, Nov. 4): All eight episodes of the Muhammad Ali limited series drop at once. Jaalen Best plays Cassius Clay, the man who became Ali, in a series that focuses on his life as a husband, father, brother and son as much as on the ring. Omari Hardwick plays his father, Cassius Clay Sr., with Dana Gourrier as his mother, Odessa "Bird" Clay, Michael Ealy as Malcolm X, Amin Joseph as Sonny Liston and Giovanni Ribisi as trainer Angelo Dundee. Ben Watkins created the series, and Ali's widow, Lonnie Ali, and Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society are among the producers, according to Amazon.
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Season 2 (NBC, Monday, Nov. 2, 8:30 p.m.): The comedy returns on NBC, with episodes streaming on Peacock the next day. Erika Alexander and Precious Way preview the new season.
City of God: The Fight Rages On, Season 2 (HBO Latino and HBO Max, Sunday, Nov. 8): The Brazilian series set two decades after Fernando Meirelles' landmark film returns for a second season. Read Cup of Soul on Brazilian cinema's global moment.
