Martin Bobb-Semple Lands Major Role in Prime Video's Tomb Raider Series
British actor Martin Bobb-Semple, known for his fan-favorite role as Lando Johnson in All American: Homecoming and the Peacock series One of Us Is Lying, is gearing up for his biggest role yet. The rising star has joined the cast of the highly anticipated live-action
Tomb Raider
series from Amazon Prime Video in a significant, series-regular capacity opposite Sophie Turner, who stars as the iconic adventurer Lara Croft.
A Breakout Year for the Londoner
The casting news, announced on Monday, December 1, 2025, solidifies Bobb-Semple's rapid ascent in Hollywood. A graduate of the Identity School of Acting, he quickly began booking major U.S. projects, transitioning from his early years as a child actor in London's West End production of Oliver!.
While character details for his Tomb Raider role remain tightly under wraps, it is understood to be a pivotal male character in the series' main storyline. Production is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
From Lando to Lara Croft's World
Fans of The CW's All American: Homecoming watched Bobb-Semple evolve the character of Lando from a cocky rival into a beloved, goofy, and "lovable guy" over three seasons. He brought an earnest charm to the role, a quality he hopes to inject into his new characters as well.
In a past interview, Bobb-Semple offered advice to young actors, emphasizing the importance of focus and belief: "Any young actors who aspire to do the same thing can do it as long as the belief and drive is there".
The Tomb Raider series is helmed by creator/writer/executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge and is expected to be a major tentpole project for Amazon MGM Studios.
