Rosamund Pike is heading into body horror. The Oscar-nominated actress will star in and produce Feed, a new film directed by Leslye Headland, the showrunner behind Disney+'s Star Wars: The Acolyte, TheWrap reported.
The project goes to buyers at the American Film Market next week. The Veterans is representing international sales, while CAA Media Finance is handling U.S. sales.
A momfluencer nightmare
According to the film's logline, Feed follows a desperate mother who discovers an obscure collagen supplement that promises to turn her tween gymnast daughter into an influencer star. As the girl goes viral, she begins a monstrous transformation. The film takes its inspiration from the 2022 Finnish horror film Hatching.
In a statement, Pike said she has long wanted to make a film that plays with society's obsession with social media, self-improvement and fame. She described her character, Erin, as a momfluencer bent on her daughter's domination of the digital space, and named Headland and Daniella Isaacs as her collaborators.
Headland called the script "audacious, disturbing and deeply human" and praised Pike as one of the boldest actors working today.
Pike will produce through her Primitive Streak banner alongside Shelley Browning of Magnolia Entertainment, Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl of ZQ Entertainment, and Sam Ritzenberg of Agile Films. ZQ Entertainment financed development of the script.
Feed marks Headland's return to directing after The Acolyte was canceled in 2024. She earned an Emmy nomination in 2025 as an executive producer of the Michelle Williams-led limited series Dying for Sex.
