Samuel L. Jackson's Frisco King Sets Dec. 18 Premiere on Paramount+ With First Teaser
Tulsa isn't the only town that needs a king. Paramount+ has set a Dec. 18 premiere for Frisco King, Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson, and released the first teaser.
Premiere date and schedule
The series premieres Friday, Dec. 18, with two episodes on Paramount+. New episodes follow weekly on Fridays. The first season runs eight episodes, all written by Sheridan.
What it's about
Jackson plays Russell Lee Washington Jr., the New Orleans gangster he introduced in Tulsa King Season 3. In Frisco King, Lee looks past the polished surface of Frisco, Texas, and sees a booming underground economy. He builds a crew that includes an ambitious protégé and a loyal driver, and as his operation grows, so does the danger.
The show was first developed as NOLA King before the story moved to North Texas. It filmed this spring in and around Fort Worth.
The cast
Samuel L. Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr.
Asa Germann as Teddy, an entrepreneurial college dropout
Kai Caster as Keith, a valet at the local Sandman Hotel
Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann as London and Avery, cheerleaders recruited into Lee's crew
Sylvester Stallone in a special appearance as Tulsa King's Dwight Manfredi
Behind the camera
Christina Alexandra Voros directed the pilot and three more episodes, and Michael Friedman directed the other four. Jackson executive produces alongside Sheridan, Stallone, David C. Glasser and LaTanya Richardson Jackson, among others.
It puts Jackson, one of the most recognizable actors working, at the center of his own Sheridan series. We'll be watching on Dec. 18.
