Zendaya's Chani Isn't Backing Down: The New 'Dune: Part Three' Trailer Puts Her at the Center of the War

Denis Villeneuve and Timothée Chalamet unveiled the new action-packed trailer for "Dune: Part Three" at an IMAX fan event in Los Angeles, simulcast to Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal, London, Berlin, Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi. The film picks up 17 years after Part Two, adapting Frank Herbert's "Dune Messiah" and exploring the fallout of Paul's rule as emperor. The trailer leans heavily on Zendaya's Chani, whose relationship with Paul is complicated by his marriage to Florence Pugh's Princess Irulan, plus the resurrected Duncan Idaho ghola sent to Paul by Robert Pattinson's Scytale. Villeneuve calls this one his most personal of the trilogy and describes it as more action-packed and tense than the first two.

Worth noting for your calendar: it opens December 18, 2026 — the same day as Avengers: Doomsday. And a craft detail your readers might care about: Greig Fraser isn't returning as cinematographer; Oscar winner Linus Sandgren (La La Land) is stepping in
