Latin Cinema and Television Take Center Stage This Fall

Hollywood is gearing up for one of its most anticipated nights of the awards season, and it's a homecoming for Latino storytelling both on screen and behind the camera. The Critics Choice Association has unveiled its full slate of honorees for the 6th Annual Celebración of Cinema & Television, set for October 2 at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

Formerly known as the Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television, the rebranded Celebración continues the CCA's tradition of spotlighting Latino artistry across film, television, and digital media one leg of a broader slate that also includes celebrations honoring Black, AAPI, and LGBTQ+ achievement in entertainment.

This Year's Honorees

Leading the class is John Leguizamo, who will receive the Career Achievement Award for a career spanning more than four decades, with a recent highlight in Universal's blockbuster "The Odyssey." He's joined by a roster that spans generations and genres:

• James Ortiz — Innovator Award, Project Hail Mary

• Aimee Carrero — Supporting Actress Award, Series, Your Friends & Neighbors

• Beth de Araújo — Breakthrough Director Award, Josephine

• Inde Navarrette — Breakthrough Actress Award, Film, Obsession

• Laysla De Oliveira — Breakthrough Actress Award, Series, Lioness

The list reflects the range the Celebración has made its signature: veteran icons alongside first-time breakouts, film craft alongside television performance, and honorees drawn from across the Latino diaspora — Colombian, Dominican, Cuban, Spanish, and Brazilian talent all represented in a single class.
