Scary Movie 6' Trailer With Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall And Anna Faris Spoofs 'Weapons,' Sinners' And More
The horror parody franchise that defined early 2000s comedy is officially back — and nothing is safe.
The official trailer for Scary Movie 6 was released on March 2, 2026, following a theatrical debut alongside Scream 7. And if the crowd reaction is any indication, the wait has been worth it. Marlon Wayans himself attended a Scream 7 screening to watch the trailer drop, telling his followers, "It's opening night of Scream 7, but really it's opening night for the teaser of Scary Movie 6."
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four — Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall — are back in the killer's crosshairs. No horror movie IP is safe.
The trailer takes aim at a wide range of recent horror hits, including Sinners, Weapons, The Substance, Get Out, Smile, Terrifier, Longlegs, and Netflix's Wednesday. It opens with a spoof of the Ghostface subway scene from Scream 6, complete with costumed characters — including the dancing robot killer M3GAN.
Cindy Campbell (Faris) appears in a heavily fortified home rigged against Ghostface, sporting a battle-worn look that parodies Laurie Strode from Halloween (2018). Meanwhile, the emotional peak of the trailer features her tearful reunion with Brenda Meeks (Hall), who shows up in an oversized cardigan and bob echoing the look of Ma.
The returning talent doesn't stop with the Core Four. Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, Jon Abrahams, and Cheri Oteri are all back, joined by newcomers Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, SNL alum Heidi Gardner, Sydney Park, and several others. Anthony Anderson, who appeared in Scary Movie 3 and 4, also returns.
Behind the scenes, this one is a full family affair. The Wayans Brothers — Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory — reunite as writers for the first time in nearly two decades, marking their first collaboration since Scary Movie 2 in 2001. Michael Tiddes directs, and Miramax produces, with Paramount Pictures releasing the film worldwide.
Marlon previously described the film as a "no-holds-barred" installment full of "equal opportunity offenders." The official logline leans all the way into that energy, promising to "slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every 'final chapter' that absolutely isn't final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed."
The original Scary Movie opened to $42.5 million at the box office in 2000 — the biggest debut for an R-rated horror film and a Black director at the time. The franchise went on to gross more than $895 million across five films.
Scary Movie 6 hits theaters exclusively on June 12, 2026, distributed by Paramount Pictures. Scary Movie 6
