Taylor Russell exits The Thomas Crowne Affair

Taylor Russell has resigned from her co-starring role in The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Michael B. Jordan.

The film has been in production in London this summer. The role is currently being recruited as production continues. Deadline, which exclusively disclosed the information, was informed by sources that the departure was precipitated by creative differences.

According to the report, Russell was to portray Jordan's co-lead, "an insurance investigator who suspects that an adventurous banking executive is perpetrating ambitious heists, and they develop sparks between them." Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway were cast in the character that would have been Russell's in the original 1968 film. Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo portrayed the character in the 1999 film.

Jordan is both the director and the protagonist of the film. Kenneth Branagh, Danai Gurira, Lily Gladstone, Pilou Asbaek, and Aiysha Hart have recently joined the cast.

As previously mentioned, Outlier Society's Elizabeth Raposo will collaborate with Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven to produce the project, in addition to Jordan's role as producer. Also, Patrick McCormick will collaborate with Marc Toberoff of Toberoff Production to produce. Alan Trustman, the author of the original 1968 film, serves as the executive producer.

Russell has numerous upcoming projects, such as a main role in Frank Ocean's directorial debut and the Korean film Hope, which stars Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, and Hoyeon. Additionally, she and Jenna Ortega are in discussions to participate in a remake of "Single White Female" from 3000 Pictures.

She is most renowned for her performances in Trey Edward Shults' Waves and Bones & All, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Additionally, she appeared in the Netflix series Lost in Space.
